After compared with unsaturated rubber, it has excellent properties as following:
1 Excellent anti-ozone performance
It will don’t need to add any anit-ozone agent if the products made with it.
2 Good heat resistance
CSM could resist the temperatures as high as 150℃ when you use some rubber antioxidant together. For products under 120℃, two doses of BA antioxidant may be used, if the products above 120℃, must be use two doses of BA antioxidant and one doses NBC antioxidant.
3 Good chemical resistance
CSM has excellent weather resistance, especially when used with suitable UV masking agent. The weather resistance of various CSM as below: CSM40 >CSM20 (2910) >CSM 30 (4010)
4 Superior low temperature performance
It has good low temperature performance and can do the flexural performance at -40℃, but it will be brittle at -56.
5 Good physical mechanical properties
CSM can be used to make all kinds of light-colored products as it has the strangth of more than 20PMa without reinforcing carbon black material. In addition, it has good wear resistance property, which can be compared with low-temperature butyl rubber.
6 Retardant performance
CSM is a kind of fire-resistant rubber as the chloridion in its srtucture can delay combustion, which is second only to neoprene.
CSM can be used with a variety of rubber so that significantly improved its anti-ozone, weather resistance performance.
Product defect:
Although CSM has many valuable properties, it also has some shortages, such as large compression permanent deformation, poor elasticity in low temperature, Oil resistance is not as good as nitrile butadiene rubber, and High polymerization cost.
